Vendor Standards

Aana Avanna is a curated marketplace for Tamil and Sri Lankan heritage products. We work with makers, artisans and small businesses whose work reflects the quality, authenticity and cultural integrity our community expects.

These standards apply to all vendors selling through Aana Avanna.

Product authenticity

We prioritise products that are genuinely connected to Tamil and Sri Lankan heritage — through materials, craft traditions, cultural significance or community origin. We do not list mass-produced items presented as handmade, or products that misrepresent their cultural provenance.

Honest representation

Product descriptions must be accurate. Claims about materials, origins, production methods and cultural significance must be truthful and verifiable. Vendors must not use misleading language about the heritage, rarity or handmade status of their products.

Ethical production

We expect vendors to produce goods under fair and ethical conditions. We do not knowingly work with vendors who exploit labour, use harmful materials or operate in ways that damage the communities their products claim to represent.

Respect for community

Products listed on Aana Avanna must not demean, stereotype or commercially exploit Tamil or Sri Lankan cultural, religious or community life. We reserve the right to remove listings that we consider disrespectful or harmful to the communities we serve.

Imagery and presentation

Product photography must accurately represent the item being sold. Vendors are responsible for ensuring their images meet basic quality standards and do not mislead buyers about size, colour, material or condition.

Fulfilment and customer care

Vendors are responsible for fulfilling orders accurately and on time, communicating clearly with buyers and resolving disputes in good faith. Persistent fulfilment failures or poor customer care may result in removal from the platform.
