Tamil Community Directories
A growing directory project helping Tamil and Sri Lankan diaspora communities find useful businesses, services and community organisations in the UK.
We are building these directories carefully rather than listing businesses automatically. Where possible, entries will be checked for a real trading presence, clear contact information and signs of current activity before they are included.
Directories we are building
- Wedding suppliers — venues, photographers, decorators, musicians and other Tamil wedding services.
- Caterers & food businesses — Tamil and Sri Lankan caterers, grocers and specialist food businesses.
- Tamil schools & classes — language, music, dance and cultural learning.
- Tailors & clothing services — including saree blouse tailoring and alterations.
- Cargo & shipping — services used by diaspora families sending goods abroad.
- Community organisations — cultural associations, churches, temples, welfare groups and charities.
- Professional & practical services — including legal, funeral and family-support services where appropriate.
Help us build a trustworthy directory
If you run a relevant business or organisation, or know one that should be considered, you can register your interest below. Inclusion is not automatic: Aana Avanna reviews listings individually and may ask for additional information.
If you spot an outdated or incorrect listing once a directory is published, please use our Corrections Policy so we can review it.
How listings will be checked
Aana Avanna is building the directory as a community reference rather than a paid ranking. Inclusion does not mean endorsement, and businesses cannot buy a higher editorial position simply by paying for advertising or marketplace services.
- We look for a genuine trading, organisational or community presence.
- We check that basic contact information and location details are current where reasonably possible.
- We note when a listing was last checked so readers can judge how current it is.
- For professional or regulated services, readers should independently confirm the provider's current registration, insurance or professional status with the relevant official body before relying on the service.
- Listings may be corrected, paused or removed if information becomes outdated, misleading or cannot be verified.
What a published listing should show
- Business or organisation name
- Service category
- Town, city or area served
- Website or public contact route
- Short description of the service
- Date last checked by Aana Avanna
- A route to report an error or outdated listing
